News:
- "Victorian Pharmacy" on BBC2 features the chemist's shop at the Blists Hill Open Air Museum, easily reached from the Ferndale Flat.
The reviews of the programme are critical of its slow pace but anyone who has been to the Museum will know it as a real joy.
- The Guardian's travel supplement on 17 July 2010 praises South Shropshire: Ludlow and the surrounding countryside; pubs with home-brewed beers; excellent eating places; "foodie heaven" in local butcher's, baker's, grocer's and wholefood shops; Acton Scott Historic Working Farm (scene of BBC's Victorian Farm series); the Land of Lost Content museum in Craven Arms and films in the Ludlow Assembly Rooms.
- 19 July 2010: Red kites, with their distinctive tails, have been seen over Ferndale for the second year running. These are thought to be Welsh kites that have begun to establish themselves on Wenlock Edge. Last year, they frequently appeared in the Corvedale.
- The famous annual Ludlow Food Fair is on Friday - Sunday, 10 - 12 September when all sorts of locally produced foods are celebrated. The sausage trail around the several Ludlow butchers' shops is always popular.
